CT Metals offers precision CNC plasma cutting services to commercial, residential and OEM clients. Our fabrication facility has welding and fabrication equipment to handle residential and commercial types of jobs. From cnc plasma prototyping to art ideas turn for marketing and/or production runs. While traditionally, plasma cutting has been relegated to rough cuts and profiling, with our High Definition ESAB machinery we are able to hold tight tolerances and still provide our customers with very competitively priced components and assemblies.
Plasma cutting process
Plasma cutting is the process of melting, and thus cutting metals of different thicknesses. Many refer to plasma cutting as a way of slicing through metal, but what’s important to know is that it is actually a melting process whereby a plasma jet hits the piece of metal and recombination takes place. The gas then reverts to its normal state, emitting intense heat as it does so. This heat melts the metal whilst the gas flow ejects it from the cut.
Our capabilities
We can cut aluminium, stainless steel, carbon steel, and other metals up to 10’ x 8’ wide. Material up to 1.5″ thick can be cut with our plasma cutter. All cuts are made on a water table, minimising part distortion due to overheating. We provide a complete service, taking care of your project from the initial design stage, right through to the completion and installation of your design.
